The Role
As a Trainee Electrical Design Engineer, you will be mentored to develop skills in electrical design, especially High Voltage and Power Earthing. You will support the engineering team while ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the design and analysis of earthing systems using industry‑standard software tools.
* Support the timely completion of design packages, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budget, safety and environmental standards.
* Collaborate with external engineering consultants to align work packages with in‑house activities.
* Liaise with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) to ensure compliance and quality assurance of designs.
* Contribute to high‑quality design outputs and support the development of least whole‑life cost solutions.
What You’ll Need
* Passion for electrical design and a desire to learn about High Voltage and Power Earthing Engineering.
* Relevant degree in Electrical, Civil or Process Engineering (BEng/MEng) or equivalent qualifications.
* Good commercial awareness, strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
* Proactive and positive attitude, demonstrating willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
* Full driving licence required, with occasional travel for site visits.
