Job Title: Director of Achievement

Location: Nottingham

Salary: £44, - £45, (SCP 33-34) per annum actual salary

Start Date: September

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: 0.4 or 0.6 (3 or 2 days per week) 52 weeks – Job Share

About You:

As a Director of Achievement at The Bulwell Academy, you will bring a compassionate and proactive approach to supporting students’ well-being, fostering a positive and inclusive school environment, and collaborating with staff and external agencies to address students’ diverse needs. Our ideal candidate would:

·The ability to positively influence and persuade students towards the school’s vision, values and ethos, whilst being a role model with a professional approach.

·Devise and co-ordinating appropriate interventions for students within identified year groups whose progress is of concern and learning gaps have been identified.

·Work with the Vice Principal and Assistant Principal for curriculum to ensure that tuition and interventions are appropriate.

·Oversee the rewards and consequences system and leading the integration of SEND, safeguarding and pastoral support plans, and working with the SEND team and SENDCO to implement effective SEMH strategies.

·Work effectively as part of a team, use initiative, follow instructions, remain calm under pressure, and possess a ‘can do’ and ‘will do’ attitude.

Requirements:

·Degree

·Sustained record of professional development.

·Experienced at ‘walking the talk’ with a track record of being able to provide a strong, visible leadership of students.

·Proven track record of substantially raising standards of behaviour, attendance, and achievement.

·Successful experience in leading effective change.

·Extensive experience of developing student involvement in school.

About the Achievement team

The pastoral department at The Bulwell Academy is dedicated to supporting students’ emotional and social well-being alongside their academic needs. The Directors of Achievement will drive improvements in academic performance through the identification and provision of appropriate academic interventions to tackle underperformance, to provide high quality pastoral support, ensuring high attendance and good punctuality and to improve the behaviour and culture of specific year groups.
