Advanced Manufacturing Engineer Intern – Flexible Pipe Systems
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK.
Responsibilities:
* Participating in technically focused training and team meetings
* Completing internal projects to deliver customer outcomes, identify business improvements, and present results
* Receiving coaching and mentoring to develop learning and skillset
* Learning internal software to assist with project completion and tasks
* Collaborating with cross‑functional teams and interns to network with global business leaders
* Applying Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&EE) standards and procedures to ensure compliance
* Contributing to a cross‑functional team aimed at improving manufacturing and inspection processes and systems
Qualifications:
* Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering
* In final or penultimate year of degree studies
* Fluent in oral and written English
* Legal right to work without restrictions
* Sound experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerApps
* Proficiency in SolidWorks is advantageous
* Strong interest in industrial or design engineering
* Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the company, including mid‑tier management and senior leadership
* Understanding of lean tools for designing statistically robust experiments and knowledge of capability studies (C P and C PK)
Lean Engineer – Flexible Pipe Systems Offshore
Location: Newcastle, UK.
Responsibilities:
* Conducting thorough assessments of current processes to identify inefficiencies, waste, and improvement opportunities
* Implementing and promoting lean tools and techniques such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, TPM, and Root Cause Analysis
* Overseeing and coaching Daily Lean Management routines across functions
* Developing and improving tracking tools, dashboards, and templates to support operational excellence
* Educating and training employees on lean principles, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
* Working closely with cross‑functional teams—including production, quality, supply chain, and engineering—to drive operational excellence and enhance performance
* Building capability in developing and monitoring key performance indicators to measure lean initiative effectiveness and ensure sustained improvements
* Utilizing data analysis and problem‑solving techniques to address operational challenges and implement sustainable solutions through Daily Lean Management
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing, or a related field
* Minimum of three years proven experience in a lean engineering or operational excellence role, preferably within manufacturing or production
* Strong understanding of lean principles, methodologies, and tools
* Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with data‑driven decision making
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across teams
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with lean software tools such as Minitab, Tableau, or PowerBI
* Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
