Job Description Paralegal – Crime Location : Leeds City Centre Salary : £24,000 to £30,000 (dependent on experience) Experience : 1 years’ experience in a similar role If you’re a paralegal with a genuine interest in criminal defence work and you’re looking for a role where you can build hands-on court experience, this is a great opportunity to join a dedicated Crime team in Leeds City Centre. You’ll support fee earners with day-to-day case preparation and client care, and you’ll be involved in matters progressing through both the Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court. The Opportunity This role offers varied work, strong exposure to criminal defence matters, and the chance to develop your skills in a supportive team. Provide day-to-day support to solicitors and fee earners Run a caseload under supervision where appropriate Assist with matters at all stages, from initial instructions through to archiving Liaise with clients and other parties, dealing with enquiries as appropriate Obtain and prepare file documentation Support case preparation and presentation for hearings Assist with billing and file administration, including liaising with relevant third parties Attend court to assist fee earners when required About You Essential 1 years’ experience in a similar paralegal role Strong client care skills and professional, approachable communication Excellent written and spoken communication Able to work accurately and handle technical detail Confident prioritising workload and meeting deadlines Calm under pressure with a flexible, can-do attitude Able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team Desirable Experience supporting criminal matters and court preparation What’s On Offer Salary of £24,000 to £30,000 (dependent on experience) Full-time role (part-time considered) Leeds City Centre location with regular court exposure Supportive team environment with scope to develop your criminal defence career Values-led, employee-owned business with a profit share scheme for eligible employees About Our Client Our client is a well-established Yorkshire law firm with a strong regional presence and a people-first culture.
