Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable Yard Operative with forklift driving experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for materials handling, shipping and receiving, and maintaining a safe and organised yard environment. Responsibilities
* Operate forklift safely to load, unload, and transport materials within the yard area.
* Manage materials handling tasks, ensuring accurate loading and unloading of goods
* Assist with shipping and receiving processes, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments
* Maintain organisation of the yard and storage areas to optimise space utilisation
* Utilise management systems to track stock movements and update records accurately
* Conduct safety checks on equipment prior to use, adhering to health and safety regulations
* Assist in general yard duties such as cleaning, organising, and ensuring a safe working environment
Skills
* Proven experience operating forklift trucks in a yard environment
* Experience with materials handling, load & unload operations, and shipping & receiving procedures
* Good organisational skills with the ability to maintain an orderly workspace
* Basic maths skills for inventory counts and measurements
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to yard operations
* Physical fitness to handle demanding manual tasks throughout the shift
