Liaison and Diversion Mental Health Practitioner
We are looking for Mental Health Practitioners to join the Merseyside Liaison and Diversion Service including RECONNECT. The role provides timely access to assessments within Liverpool and Wirral Magistrates courts, Liverpool and Wirral custody suites, and HMP Walton and Altcourse.

Responsibilities
* Identify and assess people of all ages with mental health problems, learning disabilities, substance misuse problems and other vulnerabilities as they pass through the criminal justice system.
* Work in court, police custody suites, and secure settings (HMP Walton and HMP Altcourse).
* Collaborate across wider mental health services and urgent care divisions.
* Undertake specialist mental health assessments and apply knowledge of the Mental Health Act/Capacity Act and criminal justice systems.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered practitioner within mental health (e.g., RMN, Allied Health Professions: Mental Health Nurse; Social Worker; Occupational Therapist; Learning Disability Nurse) with substantial post-registration experience.
* Experience in undertaking specialist mental health assessments and sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act/Capacity Act and criminal justice systems.

Experience/Knowledge (Essential)
* Significant post-registration experience in mental health.
* Proven leadership and management skills; experience managing cases and caseloads.
* Experience supervising staff and working autonomously across organizational boundaries.
* Experience partnering with other agencies, service users and carers; experience with audit/research and clinical governance.
* Experience with Incident Reporting Systems (e.g., DATIX) and involvement in Serious Untoward Incident Reviews.
* Understanding of Equality and Human Rights.
Education and Qualifications
* Degree-level professional qualification or equivalent experience (e.g., RMN, AHP, Social Worker).
* Post-registration study or continuing professional development (e.g., Mentorship in Practice).
* Desirable: Working towards master level education.
Other Requirements
* Post is subject to Level 2 Police Vetting Clearance (outcome determined by Merseyside Police).
