Engine Build Technician - Development & Research

Rate: 18-20 GBP Per Hour Inside IR35 through Umbrella
The Opportunity:
An opportunity is available within our Global Engine Development team (GED) at the Peterborough Engine Facility. GED is instrumental in the development, validation, and certification of our new products and in providing support to current products.
In this role, you will assist engineers in conducting technical investigations of current and future products, components, materials, and processes. The role focuses on executing engine build, strip, and rebuild activities to customer requirements in support of the team’s purpose of planning, preparing, and executing engine tests.
Additional Info:
* The role supports core hour operations: 8.30-16:45
* 85% build shop operations, 15% training and process improvement activities
* Applicants must be self-motivated, with good teamworking skills
What You Will Do:
* Follow documented standard work procedures/instructions to perform safe and defect-free engine build, strip, and rebuild tasks that ensure high-quality data collection
* Collaborate and communicate with engineers responsible for engine test programs
* Support value stream improvement projects and utilize Lean tools (BIQ, CI, 5S)
* Keep work areas clean, tidy, and safe in line with 5S and total preventative maintenance (TPM)
* Undertake training, as required, to ensure quality and safe work practices

Has previous experience in engine testing, research, development, or related skills
Holds an engineering or motor mechanics apprenticeship, relevant work experience, and completed relevant higher education
