Job Summary - Led by the University's Business School, the Developing Business-Aware Academics project is a partnership with the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS) and other business schools across the country. It will pilot and evaluate initiatives aimed at helping doctoral and early-career researchers develop business awareness and competencies to enhance innovation, knowledge exchange, and mobility between academia and industry. This is a four-year project running from July 2023 to June 2027.
The Project Support Officer role offers an excellent opportunity to experience all aspects of project work, including organising events, liaising with stakeholders, and managing finance and travel logistics. This position is part of the Graduate Business Partnership (GBP) scheme, full-time (36.5 hours per week), from September 2025 to June 2027. Requirements - Candidates should have experience working independently, under pressure, and managing a diverse workload to deadlines. Experience working in a team to achieve multiple objectives, adapting to change, and developing new systems and processes is essential. Proficiency in MS Office, virtual meeting software, and a willingness to learn new systems, including databases and platforms, is required. Experience supporting meetings, recording notes, and maintaining social media and web pages is also necessary. Knowledge of the HE system, innovation, or research policy is desirable. Candidates should be confident engaging with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, have experience in a university or research environment, and be capable of managing complex events with multiple stakeholders.
