B6 Laboratory Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Manager - Belfast

About the role:
* £19.10 per hour
* Monday to Friday (9.00am to 5.00pm)
* 37.5 hours a week
* Location: Ulster Hospital
* Commencing October 2025
* Temporary role for 3 months initially
What you'll be doing in this role:
* Manage and maintain the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and associated IT systems to support operational and business needs.
* Act as the main point of contact for ICT-related issues within the Laboratory, providing support, training, and specialist advice to staff and service users.
* Collaborate with the Trust ICT Department, BSO, and system suppliers to ensure systems are updated, secure, and fit for purpose.
* Extract, manage, and interpret complex data from laboratory systems to support audits, reporting, and service planning.
* Support and lead on ICT-related projects within Pathology, including Trust-wide system implementations and developments.
* Assist with installation, monitoring, and management of laboratory equipment interfaces and connectivity.
* Act as security officer for laboratory systems, monitoring access and reporting any security issues.
* Provide technical assistance to Point of Care teams, troubleshooting connectivity and supporting integration of new devices.
What you'll need for this role:
* A University Degree in ICT and at least 2 years’ experience in an ICT role.
* OR A professional qualification HND or equivalent in an ICT related subject and at least 3 years’ experience in an ICT role
* OR Have at least 6 years’ experience in an ICT role
* AND experience in the use of data processing and statistical analysis software to extract complex data and produce meaningful reports e.g. Business objects Have demonstrable experience of working with ICT networks, peripherals and associated hardware.
* Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
* Demonstrate advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products in particular Excel and Access
