With an ambitious roadmap, this business is expanding its senior team and looking for a technically strong and client-focused Accounts Manager to take ownership of a diverse portfolio and play a key role in team development.
The Role:
This role will suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys a mix of hands-on delivery, people leadership, and client interaction. You’ll take the lead on managing your own client portfolio, overseeing the end-to-end accounts preparation process and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a varied portfolio of clients, acting as a key point of contact for accounts and tax-related matters
* Prepare and oversee accounts and tax returns, ensuring they are completed accurately and on time
* Review the work of junior team members, offering guidance and coaching to support their development
* Engage directly with clients to discuss their financials, address queries, and provide insights
* Collaborate with directors to ensure files are prepared for client debriefs and final submission
* Monitor workloads, deadlines, and fee recoveries, suggesting improvements where needed
* Identify opportunities to broaden the firm’s engagement through cross-functional service lines
* Ensure ongoing compliance and adherence to internal processes and professional standards
Experience:
* Qualified ACA / ACCA (or equivalent), with ideally 3+ years post-qualified experience
* Previous experience in a practice environment is essential
* Excellent technical knowledge across UK GAAP including FRS 102 and FRS 105
* Confident reviewing consolidated accounts and advising clients on financial reporting matters
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* A genuine interest in coaching and developing more junior team members
