As a Machinist on our MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) site, you will set up and operate various machine tools to produce and repair aircraft parts to high standards and tolerances. You will machine parts according to various aerospace specifications.

What will I be doing?
* Cylindrical Grinding, Planetary Grinding, Vertical and Horizontal Boring, Turning, and Honing
* Set up and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and precision components onto machine beds. Adjust and operate specialist machine tools to perform precision machining operations
* Monitor and adjust feed and speeds during machining to ensure efficiency
* Use a wide range of precision measuring equipment
* Read component maintenance manuals, complex drawings, and engineering layouts to determine methods and sequences for repairs within specified dimensions and tolerances
* Diagnose machine or tool malfunctions and determine the need for adjustments or repairs
* Participate in continuous improvement activities to reduce processing times and manufacturing hours
In this role, you will work shifts consisting of early, late, and night rotations.
What do I need to succeed in the role?
* An Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally gained in the aerospace or manufacturing sector
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Good computer and mathematical skills
* Self-managing, reliable, and flexible
* Good problem-solving skills
* Willingness to train and learn new skills
* Understanding of Lean Sigma disciplines and 5S principles
