About the role
We are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant [HLTA] to join a friendly and hard working team. The role is a permanent, term time only position, for 2 days per week, teaching across our Key Stage 2 classes, covering teacher’s PPA time. There is the possibility of this being extended to include additional days each week and to cover sickness.
There is flexibility in the subjects that are taught, to best suit your preference.
You will be based in a happy, supportive one-form entry school where staff believe passionately that all children should have access to an excellent education therefore are fully committed to ensuring each and every child enjoys their time at school, makes excellent progress and leaves us with the necessary skills and attitudes to lead successful and fulfilling lives.

The candidate will:
• Be an outstanding higher level teaching assistant with high expectations of pupils’ achievement and behaviour, irrespective of a pupil’s background
• Be able to demonstrate the ability to raise academic standards through high quality teaching
• Be knowledgeable and up to date with current educational practice
• Understand how to support children through a positive approach to behaviour and be passionate about supporting all pupils within an inclusive classroom.
• Be fully committed to going above and beyond to safeguard children
• Be able to motivate others and work as part of a team, with strong interpersonal skills
• Be an excellent communicator with a calm disposition and welcoming manner
• Be able to develop strong relationships with parents and the wider community
• Show a commitment to their professional development through recent qualifications or a desire to undertake further study
• Be able to stay calm under pressure, resilient in even the trickiest of situations

Requirements
To be considered for the role of HLTA you will:
1. hold a HLTA qualification or equivalent
2. be able to provide positive references from your employment in a similar role
3. be able to provide a full, clear DBS clearance
