The focus of the role is delivering high‑quality internal and external painting works in customers’ homes. During your apprenticeship, you will: Achieve a Level 2 Painting & Decorating qualification Develop into a qualified painter specialising on decent homes What You’ll Learn Work Methods – Understand the purpose of a range of equipment & tools and how to use, store and maintain them safely and the reaction of materials to atmospheric conditions Product & Specifications - Gain expert knowledge of product types, drying, curing, effects of colour, interpreting specifications and colour choices Preparation & Removal – Learn preparation methods both traditional and modern, techniques of application, removal, wallpaper hanging and identifying substrates Health & Safety – To learn the principles of health, safety and welfare and how these are applied in the workplace including handling hazardous substances Team work - The role will give the skills and abilities to not only be part of a team but to play an active role within a busy team. Stakeholder Management – Developing and maintaining relationships with Managers, Colleagues and Customers What We’re Looking For We’re looking for motivated individuals who are eager to learn and develop in a hands-on role. Ideally, you will have: GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade 4–9 / A*– C), although this is not essential More importantly, you will: Have a strong work ethic and positive attitude Be willing to learn and take on new challenges Enjoy practical, physical work Be a reliable team player Please note: This apprenticeship is not suitable for candidates who already hold (or are studying towards) a Level 2 qualification in painting. A DBS check will also be required.
