Job Description
Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in the West Midlands for a DSG Specialist Support Accountant to join the team on a temporary basis. The postholder will support in the management of the DSG and Education teams on a predominantly remote basis.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert support in the production of the DSG management plan, ensuring the financial model is accurate, robust, and based on reliable data.
Lead scenario planning and develop financial models for the Medium-Term Financial Plan (MTFP).
Collaborate closely with the Education team, Children’s Services Finance Business Partner, and DSG funding coordinator to deliver comprehensive financial analysis.
Offer ongoing support to Education post the submission of the plan in June, contributing to strategic financial planning activities.
Candidate Criteria
Qualified Accountant (CIPFA/ACCA/ACA)
Proven experience in financial modelling, scenario planning, and budget management
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
