Owen Daniels are supporting a well-established electronics manufacturer with multiple UK sites, supplying into highly regulated and quality-critical industries. Following continued growth, they are now looking to appoint a Quality Technician at their Ashchurch facility to support ongoing production and quality assurance activities.
The Role
As a Quality Technician, you will play a hands-on role in ensuring product quality and compliance across manufacturing operations. Working closely with production and engineering teams, you will be responsible for inspection, non-conformance management, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection of electronic components and assemblies
* Raise and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and support corrective actions
* Conduct root cause investigations using structured problem-solving techniques (e.g., 5 Whys, Ishikawa)
* Support internal audits and assist with external/customer audit preparation
* Maintain accurate quality records and inspection documentation
* Assist with calibration control of inspection and test equipment
* Work closely with production teams to ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures
* Support continuous improvement activities to reduce defects and improve process capability
Requirements
* Previous experience in a Quality Technician or Inspection role within manufacturing (electronics preferred)
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
* Familiarity with inspection tools and techniques (e.g., calipers, micrometers, visual inspection)
* Understanding of quality systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001)
* Experience handling non-conformances and supporting root cause analysis
* Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Proficient in basic IT systems and Microsoft Office
