Consultant Gastroenterologist

Job responsibilities
* Provide a high‑quality secondary and/or tertiary gastroenterology service together with the department.
* Undertake a mix of general gastroenterology, endoscopy, GI bleed on call and ward cover.
* Provide specialist advice to both primary and secondary care health professionals.
* Hold clinical responsibility for outpatient and endoscopy lists, inpatient care and the GI bleed rota on a 7‑day consultant of the week model.
* Support undergraduate and postgraduate education and research.
* Develop a subspecialty interest (IBD, nutrition, hepatology or advanced endoscopy) where desired.
* Participate in flexible working or annualised sessions as per departmental needs.
Qualifications
* Entered on the GMC Register.
* Eligible for inclusion on the GMC specialist register in gastroenterology & general medicine or equivalent.
