Senior Engineer - Capital Projects Our client is recognised as a trustworthy and respected manufacturer of plastic products within it’s Industry. As part of their ongoing growth, they now have an opportunity for a Senior Engineer to oversee key engineering and capital Cap-Ex projects. This is a critical role responsible for the successful planning, execution, and completion of strategic capital projects that enhance production capabilities, improve efficiency, and support long-term growth. This position requires a highly skilled and autonomous individual who can work cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors to deliver results. Key Responsibilities: * Lead the execution of Cap-Ex and minor/major engineering projects, from initial concept to completion * Develop detailed project scopes including budgets, timelines, and risk assessments. * Work closely with internal departments (Health and Safety, Production, Quality, Distribution, and Finance) to ensure project alignment and support. * Ensure cost-effective and timely project delivery through strong management of external contractors and suppliers. * Monitor project progress and provide updates senior leadership and stake-holders. * Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality and regulatory standards. * Support the development of long-term capital plans and contribute to strategic investment decisions and use of innovation. Required Competencies: * Achievement Focused: Ability to deliver results, execute plans accurately, and follow through on tasks. * Good Judgement: Capable of analysing situations and implementing practical, effective solutions. * Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly to all stakeholders. * Dynamic: The ability to apply their engineering background to find practical solutions Candidate Profile: * A qualified Mechanical (preferred) / Electrical Engineer * A minimum of 6 years of experience in engineering roles (2 years minimum in Project specific work) gained within a manufacturing or industrial environment. * Proven track record of managing capital projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor management. * Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, equipment installation, process improvement and site expansion (engineering and construction). * Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project or AutoCAD. * A hands-on approach and fluency in English.
