This role is a fantastic opportunity to provide vital support to pupils, encouraging positive behaviour, boosting confidence, and helping them achieve success both inside and outside the classroom. Role Overview: As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to provide tailored support for pupils with behavioural and social needs. You will encourage positive learning behaviours, help de-escalate situations, and create a safe, supportive learning environment for all. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will: Support pupils with behavioural and emotional needs in the classroom and around school. Provide 1:1 and small group interventions to encourage positive behaviour. Promote engagement and participation in learning activities. Assist teachers in maintaining a focused and inclusive classroom. Use strategies to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively. Work closely with staff and parents to support pupil progress. Requirements for Behaviour Support Assistant: Previous experience working with children or young people in a school or similar setting. Strong communication, resilience, and relationship-building skills. A patient and empathetic approach when supporting children with additional needs. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply). A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
