Fulbridge Social Care is recruiting Experienced and Trainee Residential Youth Workers to join our casual team in children’s residential homes and Independent Living settings. We are seeking flexible, reliable, and interactive individuals eager to work in a specialist environment with full training and qualifications provided.

The role involves providing security, guidance, interaction, and support to young people aged 11 to 18 with challenging behaviour and complex needs. The aim is to create an environment catering to their intellectual, spiritual, social, and emotional needs.

You will support young people throughout the day with tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, education, and shopping. Interaction with professionals like Social Workers, Probation Officers, and Police Officers is also required, supporting young people in environments like classrooms, courts, and police stations.

A valid driving license is essential, as you will be required to drive the unit car and transport young people to destinations such as family contacts, school, and social activities.

Applicants must complete an enhanced DBS check with Fulbridge Social Care and successfully finish one of our induction programs before placements are offered.

Main duties and responsibilities:

1. Build strong professional relationships with service users and staff
2. Maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment
3. Stay updated with communication and information systems
4. Participate actively in meetings
5. Support young people in managing their behaviour using approved skills
6. Promote equality and acknowledge individual differences
7. Protect service users from abuse
8. Write accurate reports and keep records for monitoring
9. Attend training and achieve relevant qualifications
10. Work reliably and punctually, following shift patterns
11. Stay informed about procedures and policy changes
12. Ensure health and safety for yourself and others
13. Perform additional relevant duties as required

Person Specification:

* Ability to form professional relationships with young people
* Ability to read, understand, and produce clear reports
* Effective communication skills with young people
* Willingness to participate in all activities and follow service user preferences
* Reliability in completing tasks to a high standard
* Willingness to participate in training and development
* Punctuality and reliability in attendance
* Understanding of teamwork principles
* Awareness of health, safety, and welfare of young people
* Understanding of youth development and learning
* Knowledge of equal opportunities and discrimination prevention
