We are looking for
a dynamic and experienced registered nurse to join our Practice Education team as a Practice Education Facilitator (PEF). In this Band 6 role, you will support the development, delivery, and evaluation of high-quality education and training for staff across the Bristol Eye Hospital. Working in collaboration with the Division of Surgery Practice Education Team, you will drive forward innovative learning initiatives and contribute to the advancement of clinical practice, standards of care, and professional development. Care Management
1. Deliver hands-on clinical education and support across ophthalmic services.
2. Act as a visible role model, promoting high standards of care and safe practice.
3. Support staff in developing clinical competencies and linking theory to practice.
Professional Development
4. Plan and deliver training aligned with Trust and divisional priorities.
5. Mentor staff through professional development frameworks.
6. Share educational resources to foster continuous learning.
Quality
7. Promote clinical governance and evidence-based practice through education.
8. Support staff retention via mentorship and a positive learning environment.
9. Benchmark training against national standards to drive service improvement.
Management
10. Maintain accurate records of training and competency assessments.
11. Contribute to quality assurance and annual role evaluations.
12. Champion equality, wellbeing, and inclusive education practices.
Communication and Relationship Skills
13. Collaborate with senior nurses, educators, and university partners.
14. Foster multidisciplinary teamwork and effective communication.
15. Promote a positive image of the Trust and share best practice locally and Trust-wide.
