As part of the small Pay, Reward and Policy team you will play a key role in developing, implementing, and reviewing our employment policies and pay and benefits frameworks.
You'll be the go-to Advisor for advice on pay practices, reward initiatives, and HR policies.

What You'll Do
* Develop and update HR policies, ensuring legal compliance and best practice
* Provide specialist advice on pay, reward, and policy matters to managers, HR and payroll colleagues
* Provide specialised support on pay processes and calculations. Developing bespoke calculation templates for specific teams and general use by the workforce to ensure clear, consistent and accurate application of complicated rules.
* Contribute to projects that improve employment practice, employee engagement and retention.
* Analyse and report on workforce data to ensure fairness and consistency of practices across the organisation
* Source and procure staff benefits to support staff welbeing whilst being cost neutral to the counci.
* Ensure the requied employment policies and information is in place for maintained schools and their HR services to access.
What We're Looking For
* Experience in pay, reward, and HR policy advisory roles
* Strong knowledge of employment law and reward practices
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data, with advanced skills in the use of Excel
* Proactive, a sharp eye for detail and solutions-focused approach but with a big picture way of thinking
* Experience of, or good understanding of a local authority's relationship and responsibilties with schools

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
