About the opportunity
We are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. You'll be joining Soben at an exciting time, playing a key role in helping us achieve our ambitious growth targets. Supporting one of our key construction clients in the region, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement and commercial strategies across various projects.
What you'll do
1. Prepare cost estimates and cost plans, including benchmarking.
2. Develop value engineering and life cycle costing options.
3. Identify potential risks and help maintain the risk register.
4. Contribute to the pre-contract process and meetings.
5. Assist in preparing procurement strategies and reports.
6. Attend client and design team meetings, recording discussions and advising on cost implications.
7. Assist in lease negotiations and validation of tenant improvement allowances.
8. Contribute to development of project templates and manage change order logs, invoice logs, and cost reports.
9. Research pricing, perform measurements, and assist with development appraisals.
10. Draft and review pre-qualification questionnaires and responses.
11. Perform additional duties as assigned.
About you
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
* Minimum of two years' experience in cost estimating.
* Proficient in CostX and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Knowledge of construction technologies and sustainability trends.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Organized and detail-oriented.
* Field experience is a plus.
