Are you a strategic programme leader with a passion for digital transformation and people systems?
Join The Open University as we embark on Phase 2 of our People (HR) Systems Project – a pivotal initiative driving innovation, automation, and data excellence across our People Services function.
About the Role
Are you a hands on Programme Leader with strong delivery credentials, high level stakeholder engagement experience and a proactive mindset who can direct and lead the successful implementation of two core workstreams:
* Introduce Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
* Upgrade our People Services ticketing system
* Implement AI-driven capabilities in SAP SuccessFactors
* Launch a new knowledgebase and review intranet content
* Develop robust position management structures
* Enhance organisational data governance and control
Operating at Assistant Director level, you'll be at the heart of a high-impact transformation programme, working closely with senior leaders, technical teams, and operational stakeholders to ensure delivery excellence, stakeholder engagement, and measurable return on investment.
What You’ll Do
* Lead end-to-end programme delivery across both workstreams
* Develop and manage integrated delivery plans, timelines, and budgets
* Drive stakeholder engagement across People Services, Digital Services, Finance, and Faculties
* Coordinate with third-party suppliers and technical partners
* Champion cultural change and adoption of new systems and ways of working
* Report progress to senior leadership and governance forums
Who We’re Looking For
* Proven experience leading complex HR or digital transformation programmes
* Strong knowledge of enterprise platforms, ideally SAP SuccessFactors
* Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
* Strategic thinker with hands-on delivery capability
* Inclusive leader who builds high-performing, collaborative teams
* Deep understanding of data governance, organisational design, and change management
