What you’ll do on a typical day:
Reporting to the Distribution Centre Manager, you will develop and impose H&S policies, conduct risk assessments, lead incident investigations, deliver training, and liaise with external/internal stakeholders
* Facilities management, with overseeing maintenance of warehouse infrastructure/cleanliness and security, managing contractor relationships and coordinating repairs and improvement projects
* Compliance and reporting, tracking progress through legal compliance, colleague engagement and preparing safety and facility reports, whilst also supporting with audits and inspections
* Lead, engage and develop direct report (front desk administrator)
* Lead and present site inductions
What you need to succeed at GXO:
Previous experience in an operationally focused, Health and Safety role
* Essential qualification NEBOSH general certification
* Strong working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislative framework
* Excellent communication and strong working relationships skills with stakeholders at all levels, with a mindset to achieve results through success-driven approaches, focusing on identifying and sharing best practice
Promoting and driving a culture of safety engagement in line with the Road to Zero philosophy and improving performance through the implementation of relevant management systems current standards and legislation; maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by the identification and control of risks, leading to the prevention of accidents and causes of work-related ill health.
