Analyst (8689) – Temporary Contract/Secondment Opportunity
Insight & Analytics are recruiting an Analyst to work in a closely embedded way with Children’s Services for an 18-month period. Location: County Hall, Norwich. Hours: 37 per week. Salary: £37,280 to £39,152 per annum (Scale I).
Role overview
The post is an Analyst position within the Children’s Services (Education & Inclusion) team, supporting two key areas of Children’s Services: the Norfolk Virtual School and Early Years. The role will involve maintaining and developing an existing suite of Power BI reports and performing key analysis of educational outcomes to describe, understand and communicate indicators over time.
Responsibilities
* Support the Norfolk Virtual School for Children in Care, Previously in Care, Children with a Social Worker and Kinship Children; maintain and develop Power BI reports; perform analyses of educational outcomes; contribute to routine communications such as the annual report or internal planning.
* Assist the Early Years service by understanding and extracting value from data, advising on data collection, and supporting action planning to inform resource deployment to meet statutory duties; respond to priorities for funded childcare expansion.
* Manage and prioritise own workload; collaborate with services and colleagues within I&A; develop dashboards using Power BI with data from DfE publications, locally held datasets and data models.
* Support development of new analyses and reporting foundations as the teams evolve.
Qualifications and experience
* An ideal opportunity for an Assistant Analyst with drive to develop skills and business knowledge, or for a candidate from outside I&A with an interest in Children’s Services in a technical role.
* Experience of Children’s Services and working with pupil data would be advantageous.
* Strong data analysis and Power BI dashboard development capability recommended.
