Job Summary
The role of Programme Lead (Training and Reconciliation) is a key new position in supporting Place for Hope’sstrategic goal of growing our partnerships with faith communities to support and equip more people to reachtheir potential as peacemakers.
The Programme Lead will co-ordinate all work related to our new 5-year partnership with the United Reformed Church(URC). The partnership will involve two key areas (i) the development and staged roll-out of a mediation teamwithin the URC who will work ecumenically with the wider Place for Hope Practitioner team; and (ii) embeddingthe understanding, skills, and confidence in how to deal well with conflict, change and difference through a setprogramme of trainings.
The Programme Lead will draw on the entire Place for Hope team (staff and volunteers) to develop and deliver anagreed 5-year programme plan. The role will also involve supporting the wider work of Place for Hope,particularly working with our training team to deliver our training programme (online and in-person) with a widerange of partners.
Previous experience of project management, training, as well as excellent organisational and communication skills areessential to the role. The ideal candidate would also have an interest in supporting faith communities totransform conflict and a willingness to undertake CPD provided by Place for Hope to build their knowledge andskills in this area. This role will primarily sit within our Capacity Building and Standards (CB&S) function but will work closelywith our Innovation and Practice (I&P) and Advocacy and Communications (A&C) functions.
The CB&S function aims to build capacity both inside and outside of public institutions to embed the processes,skills, structures and cultures needed for effective public participation in decision-making. The I&Pfunction is responsible for the deliberative, dialogic and participatory projects and processes that we run. TheA&C function aims to build political and public understanding of and support for making participation anddeliberation an everyday, integral part of our democracy.
This role will have a thematic focus on public engagement in decision-making within the science, technology and datasectors. Candidates do not need an educational or work background in this sector, although it would be useful,but we would expect the successful candidate to take a keen interest in these topics.
Involve achieves its impacts by growing expertise in sector-specific areas where public engagement is important.Science and tech represent policy areas where citizen engagement on both principles and practice is vital andwhere public engagement can also open the door to broader deliberative democratic interventions and feedbackloops.

The Equality Network is a leading LGBTI+ equality and human rights charity in Scotland. We are seeking a new Policyand Campaigns Officer, to work with us on our ground-breaking work. This role will involve developing our policypositions, working with policy makers, influencers, and the media, providing information on LGBTI+ issues,consulting with LGBTI+ people, and supporting LGBTI+ people to directly engage with policy makers.
The role is made up of two parts, each funded by different parts of the Equality Network’s income streams: the policyremit, funded by our core grant, and the campaigns remit, funded by our campaigns fundraising.

The Role
This role will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of Engender’s operations and administrativesystems.
The role involves working closely with colleagues across the Engender team and the Board, leading on officeadministration tasks including organising meetings, diary management, facilities co-ordination and otheradministration tasks as required.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Administrator, who can provide a comprehensive and efficientadministrative and support function to the organisation. We are looking for someone with experience of providingadministrative support, a good knowledge of general office procedures and excellent IT and literacy skills. Theywill also need good interpersonal skills as team working is essential in this role.

This is a full-time position of 35 hours per week (Engender is currently trialling a 4-day working week. During thetrial working hours will be reduced to 30 per week with no impact on salary. The outcome of the trial willdetermine whether Engender adopts this approach in the longer term.)
