Are you a technically exceptional food professional who thrives in front of customers just as much as on-site? We're looking for a commercially astute Technical Manager to lead retailer relationships, protect brand integrity and drive technical excellence across an international fresh produce supply chain.
What you'll be doing at the Technical Manager:
Own the technical relationship with major UK retailers, acting as the senior technical contact and trusted advisor within quarterly reviews and growth discussions.
Bridge the gap between farm, global supply base and UK packhouse operations, translating retailer policies and evolving standards into clear, actionable supply chain controls.
Lead and continuously improve the Quality & Technical Management System, ensuring robust HACCP, internal audit programmes and full compliance with BRCGS and retailer-specific standards.
Embed compliance excellence across food safety legislation, pesticide residue limits, packaging regulations and customer codes of practice, protecting both brand and commercial performance.
Oversee retailer specifications, supplier approvals and web-based compliance platforms, ensuring technical documentation is audit-ready and commercially aligned.
Drive complaint trend analysis and corrective action, balancing root cause investigation with customer satisfaction and commercial priorities.
Provide technical leadership in tenders, NPD, seasonal category transitions and supply chain optimisation, supporting the Commercial team with insight that unlocks growth.
Develop and lead packhouse technical resource while maintaining strong international alignment, including regular collaboration with European counterparts to ensure consistency and continuous improvement.
What you'll need as the Technical Manager:
A proven track record in a chilled and / or fresh food Technical Manager role is required to be considered for this position
Experience being the main technical point of contact for retailers is also required
Own transport and flexibility to travel to sites and retailer HQs. As well as overseas
