Location: Preston depot, PR5. 39 hours per week. GBP 12.55 per hour. Full UK driving licence required.
We are currently looking for Field Service Engineers to join the team within our Preston depot. As a healthcare equipment provider, Ross Care works in partnership with the NHS to supply the necessary equipment and aids to support people in their day-to-day life.
Responsibilities
* Delivering and collecting wheelchairs to and from service users’ homes and NHS departments, ensuring the Company Infection Control Policy is followed.
* Servicing and repairing wheelchairs in the field with the aim of achieving a first-time fix whenever possible.
* Complete all job paperwork with details of parts used and actions taken to enable accurate database updates by the administration team.
* Use PPE as instructed and undertake out-of-hours responsibility when rostered, once fully trained.
* Follow regulations for driving and using the Company vehicle on public highways; comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act.
* Keep the vehicle tidy and replenish stock of necessary parts daily; perform weekly vehicle safety checks and van check sheets.
* Maintain a professional customer service attitude, wear the uniform and identification badge, and ensure the uniform is clean and laundered.
* Prioritise and organise workload, consulting the Line Manager as appropriate.
* Maintain and safely store all tools and equipment provided by the Company as outlined in the handbook.
* Undertake all necessary training to maintain role skills.
Qualifications
* Full UK driving licence
* Successful enhanced DBS check
* General workshop knowledge
* Basic electrical knowledge including 12v/24v DC systems
* Able to move and handle loads safely
* Experience of face-to-face customer contact
* Previous delivery driver experience
* Awareness and understanding of people with disabilities
* Flexible approach to changing working conditions
* Ability to use own initiative within set boundaries
* Ability to use a mobile phone to relay photographs
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to relay clear instructions to clients
* Awareness of handheld scanners
Physical Demands
* Moving and handling of equipment following guidelines
* Standing at a bench to work; kneeling or crouching
* Working in confined spaces when installing equipment
* Use of ramps and other moving equipment
