Overview
Multiskilled Engineer for a Pharmaceutical Manufacturer – Maintenance Technician – Location: Skipton, North Yorkshire – Permanent – Salary: £44,348 – Rotational days: Week 1: Monday – Thursday (06:15‑16:30), Week 2: Monday – Thursday (07:15‑16:00), Friday (07:30‑14:00).
The Role
* Maintenance of medical device manufacturing equipment and processes within controlled manufacturing areas. Carry out planned maintenance, calibration, machine change‑over/set‑up, and breakdown repair of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation associated with process equipment. Support site facilities as required and record all work activities within the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
* Respond quickly to maintenance support on manufacturing equipment to achieve production output standards and support environmental and utilities systems.
* Provide excellent customer service, ensuring asset uptime, first‑time fix and quality workmanship.
* Actively contribute to the development of departmental processes and procedures.
* Lead maintenance activities within areas of responsibility, covering breakdown support and improvement work.
* Drive continuous improvement culture that enhances factory assets, procedures, processes and systems.
* Ensure compliance with planned maintenance/calibration regimes and record all work in a timely manner in the CMMS.
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding equipment status during breakdown support and engineering requirements in operational areas.
* Adhere to site Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and standards, maintaining safe working conditions.
The Person
* Holds an HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, NVQ 3, ONC/HNC equivalent or possesses sufficient experience as a Main Technician or Engineer in a similar setting.
* Has experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, FMCG or food manufacturing environments.
* Possesses a mechanical or electrical bias.
* Proficient in IT/MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
* Demonstrates good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Works well in a team and can work independently when required.
