East Sussex College Group is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Lecturer in Media and Film to join our A Level team at Lewes. The Lewes campus contains our flagship A Level department and plays a central role in shaping the academic identity of the College Group. You will teach motivated students who are developing both their academic understanding and creative practice in Media and Film. Working within a supportive and collaborative team, you will deliver high-quality lessons that challenge students intellectually while helping them become confident, independent learners who are well prepared for the next stage of their education or employment. This role would suit an experienced teacher or an NQT embarking on their first year of teaching. This exciting role will include: Teaching A Level Media Studies and Film Studies, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons Supporting students to develop critical analysis, independent study habits and strong examination performance Contributing to curriculum planning, assessment and quality improvement activities within the department Monitoring student progress and providing effective feedback that supports improvement and achievement If you can demonstrate the following, then we’d love to hear from you: Strong subject knowledge in Media Studies, Film Studies or a closely related discipline A commitment to high academic standards and supporting students to achieve their potential Experience of teaching or working with young people (ideally within post-16 education) A relevant degree and a teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one) For many of our teaching roles, we welcome applications from candidates at any stage of their career, including industry professionals with no/limited teaching experience.
