The role: Senior Technical Portfolio Manager
Manages and delivers up to six strategic BA programmes worth £400m, including bespoke cabin interiors for Airbus and Boeing fleets. Ensures scope, quality, and regulatory compliance while meeting time and budget targets. Provides technical insight and coordination to achieve certification, safety, and customer satisfaction, delivering designs that differentiate the BA brand.
What you’ll do:
1. Oversees planning, scheduling, financial control, forecasting, and risk management across multiple programmes and global suppliers.
2. Accountable for developing and delivery cabin programme statement of works
3. Ensures compliance with FAA, CAA, EASA regulations and Part 21 design requirements, including dynamic/static testing, flammability, and special conditions.
4. Builds and maintains robust programme governance and reporting structures.
5. Leads collaboration with MRO, engineering teams, and production areas for seamless delivery.
6. Drives stakeholder engagement at all levels, aligning cross-functional teams and senior leadership to deliver programme and resolve complex interdependencies.
7. Acts as trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, driving business objectives and fostering an open safety culture.
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
8. STEM degree or equivalent experience in complex programme delivery - essential
9. Programme Management certification (APM, PMI, PRINCE2) – essential
10. Proven experience delivering complex engineering programmes with risk management and mitigation - desirable
11. Sound knowledge of aviation regulatory frameworks (FAA, CAA, EASA) and certification processes - desirable
12. Skilled in stakeholder engagement, cross-functional leadership, and managing multi-million-pound budgets – essential
