Continuous Improvement Practitioner

Hours: 38 hours per week
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum dependent on experience
Location: Durrington and other sites within the region four times a week and one day WFH per week.
The Continuous Improvement Practitioner is responsible for driving a progressive mindset across the Operational Control team. Collaborating with key stakeholders they will identify opportunities for improvement, be able to demonstrate the benefits and value of each opportunity and drive the delivery of initiatives in an effective and prioritised way.
Building strong relationships across the Control Centre and wider operational teams, the successful candidate will identify and prioritise opportunities to improve based on the perceived end-to-end improvement to our environmental, operational and customer performance. They will utilise relevant methodologies to remove waste, propose efficiencies and improve processes, building the foundations of a continuous improvement culture within Southern Water, targeted towards the Operational Control Centre and considering interconnected cross-functional departments.
Reporting to the Continuous Improvement Manager and working alongside the wider Training, CI and Human Factors team, the successful candidate will be an advocate for change, driving and engaging multiple stakeholders across the business, at different levels of seniority. When delivering process improvements, they will demonstrate efforts to understand and consider the experience of those operating the process, utilising a person-centred approach to achieve effective and suitable outcomes.
To achieve these results, the right candidate will be confident in co-ordinating and facilitating workshops and mapping exercises with subject matter experts and business process owners – ensuring there is alignment, understanding and a smooth roll out of any changes into the operation.

Criteria:
1. A relevant Level 4 or equivalent qualification, e.g. Continuous Improvement, Data Analysis Apprenticeship, Root Cause Analysis
2. Root Cause Analysis experience
3. Process Development experience
4. A great understanding of Learning Styles & Delivery
5. Strong experience of process Mapping
6. Process Transformation experience
7. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify a problem to understand possible solutions with minimal technical expertise
8. Good facilitation and stakeholder management skills
9. Able to work on own initiative to deliver solutions
10. Strong time management and prioritisation skills
11. Strong communication and organisational skills
12. Effective at process management.
