We're now looking for a dedicated Family Support Worker to join our team and build positive, trusting relationships with our families and community.
Your Role:
Working with our current Family Support Worker as part of a job share, you will collaboratively:
* Provide one-to-one and group support for children and families facing a range of challenges
* Act as a key contact for parents/carers, offering practical advice, emotional support, and early intervention
* Work closely with school staff, external agencies, and local services to ensure families receive the right help at the right time
* Promote children's wellbeing, attendance, and engagement with learning
* Support safeguarding practices and contribute to multi-agency meetings when needed

Experienced in working with children and families, ideally in an educational or community setting
Knowledgeable about safeguarding, child development, and local support services
A great communicator – approachable, empathetic, and non-judgemental
Organised, proactive, and able to manage a varied caseload

Key responsibilities
* To embody the school's vision and values.
* To work as part of the Pastoral Team supporting vulnerable children and their families.
* To develop positive links between home and school, being forward thinking in ways to develop this further.
* To establish positive working relationships with children, families and staff, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
* To identify children and families in need of additional support and promote effective home-school partnerships.
* To engage with vulnerable children and families to formulate a package of support, initiating and leading Early Help where needed and promoting early intervention.
* To maintain regular contact with families of children receiving support to encourage positive family involvement in the child's learning.
* To lead parent's groups and training as needed.
* To be a DSL and work as part of the safeguarding team, taking responsibility for safeguarding across the school.
* To monitor attendance together with a member of the attendance team following school practice and policy.
* To listen to and gain the child's voice so that this is always represented in meetings about children.
* To work with children individually and in small groups as needed.
* To liaise with other professionals and outside agencies so that the Team around the Family works effectively.
* To maintain accurate record keeping in accordance with the policies and procedures in place in school, including MyConcern.
* To undertake training and development relevant to the post and in line with the school's priorities, especially safeguarding practice.
* To provide advice, guidance and support on safeguarding and child protection matters to the Headteacher and all school staff
* Act as lead in discussing safeguarding and child protection issues with parents and cares, providing guidance to families and staff to improve outcomes for children
* Act as lead in liaison with agencies regarding safeguarding and child protection issues, including referrals, arranging and facilitating meetings, writing detailed reports and giving evidence at court hearings
* Deliver safeguarding and Prevent training to all school staff (including new to school), keeping up to date with current guidance and policies, providing regular updates to staff and keeping records of staff training – ensuring all statutory training requirements are met
To undertake any other duties as directed by the Headteacher

Pay: £32,061.00-£36,363.00 per year
