We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Head of Maths to lead an established team. About the Role
The postholder will lead the Maths Department and collaborate with students, families, teachers, other department leads and Heads of Year to secure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Maths department, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and achievement.
* Develop, implement and review a coherent Maths curriculum that meets statutory requirements and supports excellent progress for all pupils.
* Monitor student progress and outcomes, using data effectively to drive improvement and close attainment gaps.
* Lead, support and line‑manage Maths staff, promoting high expectations, professional development and effective practice.
* Ensure consistent, high‑quality teaching through lesson observation, coaching, moderation and quality assurance activities.
* Oversee assessment, feedback and exam preparation to maximise student achievement at all key stages.
* Manage departmental resources and budget effectively to support learning and value for money.
* Contribute to whole‑school priorities, policies and improvement planning through strong middle leadership.
* Promote a positive learning culture within Maths, fostering engagement, resilience and high aspirations among students.
