We’re looking for a skilledOffshore Handling Systems Engineerwith a strong background inLaunch and Recovery Systems (LARS)forROVs,survey sensor systems, orroboticsto join our pioneering team. This is your opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and contribute to the development of next-generation offshore handling systems aboard ouruncrewed surface vessels (USVs).
As an Offshore Handling Systems Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of designing and integrating handling systems for our USVs. Your work will directly impact thereliability, safety, and performanceof our offshore operations.
Your Role
1. Design and deliver robust, efficient offshore handling systems and related equipment for uncrewed vessels.
2. Develop functional and technical specifications for system capabilities and integration.
3. Manage subcontractors through design, build, and testing phases to ensure quality and timely delivery.
4. Drive standardization of handling system solutions across the USV portfolio to improve efficiency, maintainability, and scalability.
5. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize system performance and integration.
6. Promote safety and innovation throughout design, construction, and operational phases.
7. Support delivery and commissioning of new systems and gather operational feedback for continuous improvement.
8. Travel internationally for supplier visits, build supervision, and commissioning support.
9. Primary Working locations can be Nootdorp (NL), Aberdeen (UK), or Plymouth (UK).
Your Track Record
10. MSc or BSc in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
11. 10+ years of relevant experience in offshore handling system design and operations, ideally with ROV systems or similar subsea equipment.
12. Proven track record in the design and delivery of multiple LARS/handling systems.
13. Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
14. Strong stakeholder management and client-facing experience.
15. Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
16. Experience with AutoCAD and/or 3D CAD software is a plus.
17. Familiarity with offshore vessel operations is advantageous.
Bonus Points
18. Experience with uncrewed or autonomous marine systems.
19. Knowledge of offshore robotics, subsea tooling, or survey equipment.
20. Exposure to system integration and commissioning in a maritime environment.
21. Passion for innovation and sustainable marine operations.
