As part of Criminal and Financial Investigation (CFI), Cyber & Digital Capabilities (CDC) provides comprehensive digital forensics services to support Immigration Enforcement operations and criminal investigations. This includes the acquisition of data from digital devices as well as the subsequent processing and analysis of resultant data to provide actionable evidence.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to drive changes that improve and maintain data management, quality and assurance processes. You will lead and manage a variety of activities that are critical to the delivery of an efficient and effective digital forensic service. You will work closely with staff across the department as well as key stakeholders across the business and externally, making a tangible difference everyday.
Forensic Science Activity in the UK is governed by the Forensic Science Regulator (FSR). The Forensic Science Act came into force in October 2023, and as such means that any forensic science activity carried out for law enforcement purposes must comply to the FSR code of practice which includes accreditation to ISO 17025.
The Forensic Systems Assurance Manager will be responsible for maintaining and developing the case management and quality management system used by all staff across the department. They will also have responsibility for systems used to store data from digital forensics examinations and will lead on the development and implementation of new policies and procedures.
The role is critical to ensuring that all data generated as part of the forensic process and records contained within these systems are managed in accordance with the FSR codes and data protection requirements. As part of the senior management team, you will lead and develop data management and assurance strategies that underpin CDC forensic processes.
Key Responsibilities (list is not exhaustive)
* Develop and implement the CDC data management & assurance strategy.
* Oversee the administration of systems ensuring appropriate user permissions based on role and the effective implementation of a starters/leavers process.
* Actively manage system performance, raising risks & issues both internally and externally and report management information from systems to inform CDC performance.
* Oversee System maintenance, configuration and continuous improvement.
* Engage with key stakeholders to provide a consistent approach to how we purchase, implement, and manage forensic systems.
* Ensure procedures for the use and management of forensic systems are documented and updated.
* Line manage Forensic Systems Officers, overseeing their day-to-day responsibilities for maintaining forensic systems and the data within them.

Due to the business requirements of this role, it is only available on a full-time basis.

You will receive full training and support to do the job.
Travel
Some travel will be required between offices, at times you will be required to transport equipment.
