Job Overview
We are seeking both a Full-Time and Part-Time Optical Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the optometrist and colleagues in providing exceptional eye care services. This position requires a strong understanding of how the GOS/NHS works as well as excellent interpersonal skills to assist patients effectively.
Duties
· Assist optometrists during eye examinations by preparing patients and explaining procedures.
· Conduct preliminary tests, including measuring pressures, auto-refraction and performing initial assessments.
· Maintain the practice appearance, frame stock, update patient records
· Process orders for eyewear, including lenses and frames, while ensuring accuracy in prescriptions.
· Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient enquiries and concerns.
· Keep accurate records of patient information, making appointments and diary management.
· Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth workflow within the practice.
Experience:
· Previous experience in an UK optical practice is essential, two years minimum.
· Excellent knowledge of frame selection and adjustments
· Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment are essential.
· A keen attention to detail and organisational skills are necessary for managing the day to day running of the practice.
