Product Owner – Credit Cards Platform (Cloud Transformation)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to join a major financial services transformation programme focused on a Credit Cards Platform undergoing migration from on-premise systems to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
The platform supports Credit Cards, Sales, and Acquisition journeys and is entering a key phase of modernisation. The Product Owner will be responsible for shaping and delivering product priorities across newly established feature teams delivered via a strategic delivery partner.
This role requires strong ownership, the ability to work independently within feature teams, and close collaboration with business management and technical stakeholders to ensure the right outcomes are delivered.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring prioritisation is aligned to business value and customer outcomes
* Translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable features for delivery teams
* Work closely with senior stakeholders to understand strategic objectives and long-term challenges
* Ensure teams are consistently working on the highest-value priorities
* Develop and deliver product roadmaps and change management plans aligned to wider organisational strategy
* Manage risks, dependencies, and controls within a regulated financial services environment
* Apply a data-driven, test-and-learn approach to product development and decision-making
* Support and guide empowered feature teams, enabling high-quality autonomous delivery
* Facilitate clear communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
* Contribute to capability development through mentoring and informal knowledge sharing
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Product Owner within banking or financial services
* Strong background in Credit Cards, lending, or customer acquisition journeys
* Experience working on large-scale transformation or cloud migration programmes
* Strong Agile delivery experience, including backlog ownership and prioritisation
* Ability to operate independently within feature teams with minimal dependency on the client
* Strong stakeholder management experience, including engagement with senior business leaders
* Ability to translate strategy into delivery outcomes in complex environments
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desirable Experience
* Experience with Google Cloud Platform or similar cloud transformation initiatives
* Experience in regulated environments (UK financial services preferred)
* Experience working with external delivery partners
* Exposure to large-scale digital platform or customer journey transformation programmes
