1191DIX Job Title: HR & Compliance Administrator Department: HR & Compliance Reports to: HR & Business Lead Location: Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (1-hour lunch break) Salary: £27000 to £30,000 per year (depending on experience and suitability) Benefits: Death in Service Cover, Westfield Health Cashback Scheme, Career Progression Opportunities ________________________________________ About the Role We are offering an exciting opportunity for a proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organised individual to join our growing HR & Compliance team as an HR & Compliance Administrator. This role is ideal for someone with 2–3 years of hands-on HR administration experience who is confident in managing the daily demands of an HR function and enthusiastic about expanding their skills in a fast-paced and supportive environment. As an integral member of the team, you will be responsible for a wide variety of HR and compliance activities including onboarding, record keeping, training coordination, policy implementation, employee relations support, and GDPR compliance. Over time, you’ll have the opportunity to take on greater responsibility, including supporting strategic HR projects, facilitating training delivery, and leading on best practice initiatives. We also offer support and development opportunities for candidates with strong practical experience who are looking to build toward more senior HR roles, even if they don’t yet hold formal HR qualifications. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Reporting to the HR & Business Lead, you will contribute to the smooth and compliant running of HR operations. Core responsibilities include (but are not limited to): • Provide day-to-day HR and compliance administrative support • Maintain accurate personnel records, ensuring files are complete and up to date • Manage full onboarding and offboarding processes, including issuing contracts and collecting required documentation • Facilitate new starter inductions and coordinate probation reviews • Update and manage Sage HR, including employee profiles, annual leave, absences, and document uploads • Conduct employment referencing and request right to work, and security clearance checks • Issue onboarding paperwork and liaise with payroll on new starter details • Review medical questionnaires, conduct follow-up discussions, create action plans, and liaise with hiring managers on adjustments • Manage and track flexible working and remote working requests, and coordinate occupational health referrals • Maintain an accurate IT asset register and manage allocation of equipment • Coordinate internal training delivery, issue e-learning modules, track completions, and report compliance metrics to managers • Support employee relations processes by preparing documentation for performance reviews, appraisals, disciplinary meetings, and improvement plans • Contribute to policy development, implementation, and communication of HR procedures • Assist with GDPR compliance including managing DSARs, right to erasure requests, breach reporting, DPIAs, and maintaining the data asset register • Keep internal stakeholders informed of legislative changes and policy updates • Support internal communications and maintain company noticeboards and staff communication platforms • Assist with absence management reporting, return-to-work documentation, and leave tracking and reporting. • Prepare HR reports and metrics for management including headcount, turnover, absence, and training completion • Participate in internal audits and ensure HR records and processes meet compliance standards • Support engagement and wellbeing initiatives ________________________________________ What We’re Looking For • 2–3 years of hands-on experience in HR administration • Strong organisational and administrative skills with a high level of attention to detail • Proactive, enthusiastic, and eager to contribute to a collaborative team environment • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and adapt to changing demands • Confident using Microsoft Office and SharePoint (particularly Excel, Word, Outlook) and HRIS systems such as Sage HR • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) • Able to work independently and use initiative while knowing when to seek guidance • A genuine interest in learning the wider scope of HR practice and employment legislation • Discreet and professional when handling confidential information ________________________________________ Why Join Us? • Work within a supportive, friendly, and fast-paced environment • Gain exposure to a broad range of HR and compliance areas • Receive structured training and mentorship to support your professional development • Opportunity to grow into a more senior HR role with increased responsibility • Competitive salary and benefits package ________________________________________ Ready to take the next step in your HR career?
