Responsibilities and Activities
This person will join the DevOps squad, supporting the implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and automation, always with guidance from more experienced engineers.
Their role is to contribute to technical decisions by considering factors such as stability, reliability, monitoring, observability, and business needs, while focusing on continuous learning and development.
They will also be responsible for helping maintain platform resilience, adopting new technologies under supervision, and participating in relevant technical initiatives.
What you'll do
* Technical Support in CI/CD and Automation
o Assist in implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
o Help create and update IaC scripts for infrastructure provisioning and management.
o Follow best practices in IaC to ensure consistency and compliance.
o Collaborate on automating routine operational tasks.
o Support the team in deployment, scaling, and maintenance processes.
* Technical Contributions
o Contribute technically to team tasks, always seeking to learn.
o Participate in the creation of documentation and internal post-mortems
o Follow coding standards and best practices defined by the team.
o Help promote best practices in CI/CD and automation.
* Mentorship and Learning
o Actively seek guidance from more experienced engineers.
o Participate in code reviews and learn from feedback.
o Support colleagues with basic technical questions.
* Platform Resilience
o Help avoid unplanned or uncommunicated changes.
o Demonstrate commitment and responsibility.
* Consultation and Problem-Solving
o Support engineers from other squads with simple questions.
o Participate in problem-solving under supervision.

o Stay updated on trends in CI/CD and automation.
o Share relevant learnings with the team.
* Proof of Concept (POC) Execution
* Assist in executing POCs for new technologies, always with supervision.
* Squad Summary
The DevOps squad is responsible for implementing and optimizing the Pismo CI/CD Platform, automating infrastructure provisioning, and improving operational tasks using best practices in CI/CD and IaC. The team stays updated with technology trends, executes POCs, and seeks continuous improvement.
This is a remote position. A remote position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications
* Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Argo, Codefresh, Github Actions)
* Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
* Interest in automating deployment processes
* Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
* Understanding of monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus)
* Knowledge of AWS or another cloud provider
* Previous experience with support or OnCall is a plus
* Proactivity in learning and seeking help
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Organization and attention to detail
* Commitment to deliverables and deadlines
Desirable qualifications
* Knowledge in Java or Golang programming language
