HGV Technician - Amesbury
We currently have a full time vacancy for a Workshop Technician, based in our busy AmesburyDepot.
The successful candidate will support expansion of workshops and manage fleet repairs in house.
Pay Rates:
1. £19.28 per hour
2. Over time rates after 47.5 hours per week of (£24.10) and enhanced rates on Saturday (£24.10) and Sunday (£28.92)
Shift Patterns
3. Any 5 shifts out of 7, Flexibility required for all week days and weekend days.
Role & Responsibilities:
4. To Inspect and maintain our HGV Fleet to comply with Legal & Company standards.
5. Prepare vehicles for MOT Testing and transport to Test Centre.
6. To record vehicle defects and keep accurate records of work carried out on each vehicle.
7. Repair Minor Accident Damage.
8. Carry out Fault Diagnosis.
9. Actively seek solutions to problems.
10. Provides excellent customer service at all times.
11. Working with the following Equipment (vehicles, trailers, and ancillary equipment)
Key skills & experience
12. Relevant experience in a similar role is desirable
13. Works well both independently and in a team
14. Manages deadlines well and understands how to prioritise a workload
15. A positive thinking and self-motivated individual
16. An effective team member who works well on their own initiative
17. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
18. Demonstrates an excellent attitude to work
19. No more than 6 minor points on driving license (No CDs, DDs, DRs or INs)
Qualifications
20. Commercial experience on HGV’s is essential
21. City & Guilds part 1 & 2 &3/ BTEC / IMI in motor vehicle management or equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry
