We’re working with a welcoming, Ofsted-rated “Good” nursery in Birmingham that is looking for a Deputy Nursery Manager to join their team as soon as possible. The previous Deputy Manager has recently been promoted to Nursery Manager, so this is a fantastic opportunity to step into a role where progression is genuinely possible.
This is a full-time, long-term position, working shifts Monday to Friday between 7:30am and 6:00pm, with around 35–40 hours per week.
You’ll work closely with the Nursery Manager, supporting the day-to-day running of the setting while remaining room-based, helping to create a nurturing, engaging environment where children can learn, explore, and thrive.
This role would suit an experienced Deputy Manager or an ambitious Room Leader who feels ready to step up and take on more responsibility.
What the role involves:
* Supporting the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the setting
* Leading by example in the room, creating a positive and engaging environment for children
* Supporting staff development and maintaining high standards of care and learning
* Ensuring safeguarding, EYFS, and nursery policies are followed at all times
* Building strong relationships with parents, carers, and the wider team
We’re looking for someone who:
* Holds a relevant Early Years qualification (Level 3 or above)
* Has previous nursery experience, ideally in a leadership or Room Leader role
* Is confident supporting staff and maintaining high-quality practice
* Is passionate about early childhood development and creating inspiring learning environments
* Brings a positive, supportive approach to teamwork
