Cornwall Partnership Foundation NHS Trust
Consultant
Posted: 19 August
Offer description

Cornwall Partnership is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic consultant psychiatrist to join the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service in the multi-agency rapid response service (MARRS). The role will provide clinical leadership to a service offering a crisis response for young people with acute mental health difficulties across the community and acute services 24/7. This includes collaboration with professionals such as paediatrics, police, the 136 Suite, wider community children’s services, and the inpatient unit.

We offer a recruitment incentive package to the right candidate.

This post is part of the service's leadership team and will provide support and supervision to team members. The post-holder will be part of a clinical team providing specialist psychiatric advice to a multidisciplinary team. There is potential to support medical trainees and advanced clinical practitioners, supervised by the consultant.

The post-holder, along with senior CAMHS team members, will ensure effective communication with referring and receiving teams across the Trust and primary care. Where appropriate, the post-holder may join therapy sessions in complex cases. While primarily responsible for delivering a high-quality clinical service, the Consultant psychiatrist is also expected to contribute to the strategic development of the team and broader services, working with the service manager to align with the organisation's strategic direction.

The successful candidate will develop a personal development plan for lifelong learning. We also offer opportunities for further qualifications, research, or involvement in service transformation, with flexible SPA arrangements above the standard 2.5 SPAs.

We are an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, delivering community and hospital-based care to improve physical and mental health. We also support people with dementia or learning disabilities.

We are committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of the local community. The Trust employs over 4,000 staff, including doctors, nurses, therapists, and support staff, working in homes, community clinics, bases, and hospitals. Our aim is to have great people, provide excellent care, be a great place to work, and a trusted partner.

Cornwall has a population of approximately 568,000. Many residents rely on services in Devon, especially during holidays and summer, increasing service demand. The full role details are in the enclosed Job Description, which is under review through the Royal College approval process.
