About the Role
Working with the relevant Lead Engineer, The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the development and improvement of existing manufacturing systems, procedures and equipment in a dynamic manufacturing environment, working to set timelines.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
7. Plan, co-ordinate and implement the most efficient and cost-effective production methods required to manufacture major sub-components and completed machines.
8. Co-ordination of Production, Engineering and Quality Assurance Departments to establish/implement containment and route cause fixes to manufacturing issues.
9. Implementing best practice standard work onto shop floor
10. Build/Drawing pack creation & maintenance in conjunction with Engineering Change Orders & New Product Development.
11. Liaise with cross functional departments e.g. supply chain, engineering, quality
12. Implement Lean Manufacturing principles including Line Balance, 5S, Poke Yoke
13. Ensure current processes and all new processes encompass safe working practices
14. Production support to the Manufacturing Department
15. Problem Solving
About you
16. Minimum HNC / HND Engineering Qualification or demonstrate extensive relevant knowledge through on job experience.
17. Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Oracle) would be advantageous
18. Competent in use of Microsoft packages
19. Experience of 3D modelling software would be advantageous
20. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
21. Knowledge of Machine Shop and Fabrication would be advantageous
22. Excellent multi-tasking & attention to detail skills
23. Ability to work under pressure
24. Good organisational skills
25. Logical & Methodical approach to problem solving
26. Ability to work with others to meet deadlines
