Healthcare Assistant – Paediatric Emergency Department

Job Summary
In this role you will support the Paediatric Emergency Department in a fast-paced environment, delivering compassionate, patient-focused care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Caring Responsibilities
* Provide seamless, high-quality care to patients as part of the multidisciplinary team.
* Uphold the Trust's policies, procedures and philosophy of care while carrying out nursing tasks.
* Prioritise patient safety and comfort at all times.
* Collaborate closely with other team members to achieve excellent outcomes.
Shift Patterns
This position requires shift work, including weekends, bank holidays and nights. Day shifts run 07:00-19:30, night shifts 19:00-07:30, with rota planned 4-8 weeks in advance.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Vocational qualification at Level 2 or equivalent experience.
* For Band 3 HCA: Vocational qualification at Level 3 or equivalent experience, Care Certificate and required competencies.
* Understanding of working in a healthcare setting.
Experience
* Knowledge of personal care procedures and related tasks.
* Experience working with children and their families in a healthcare environment.
Other Requirements
* Flexibility to work all shift patterns, including nights, weekends and bank holidays.
