Job Opportunity: Health Improvement Officer in Argyll and Bute
Working within Argyll and Bute HSCP's Public Health Department, this role focuses on delivering national and local health priorities, initially concentrating on sexual health promotion, including:
1. Supporting partners to acquire knowledge and implement initiatives aimed at preventing poor sexual health and blood-borne viruses (BBVs), and reducing stigma and discrimination, especially around HIV.
2. Engaging with high-risk groups and supporting community-based sexual health initiatives, including Pride events and Speakeasy training.
3. Supporting other prevention, inequality-focused, and community interventions as local priorities evolve.
The role requires excellent communication and partnership skills to build relationships with HSCP staff, third sector partners, and community stakeholders. Experience in NHS settings, particularly in Health Improvement or sexual health, is advantageous. The base location is negotiable within Argyll & Bute HSCP, and a driving license is required.
