Zenith People are looking to recruit an experienced QA Technician to work at its client site in Northumberland. The role is to maintain all the QA systems and ensure compliance at all times, especially with regards to BRC. Reporting to the Technical Director and Ops Director where necessary.
Responsibilities:
* Ensuring all staff are aware of their responsibilities with regards to BRC, food safety, quality and legality.
* Internal Audits carried out against site procedures to maintain standards supporting continued BRC accreditation.
* Work with the Technical Director towards constant improvement of the quality systems used throughout the manufacturing, packing and warehousing operations to ensure food safety, quality and legal compliance.
* Working with the HACCP team to complete Review / verification / validation audits of the HACCP system as appropriate.
* Implement and maintain the Raw Material Specifications System and use it to ensure raw materials quality and identify non compliance issues.
* Implement and maintain finished goods specifications for distribution to customers where necessary.
* Ensuring products produced are consistent at all times and meet set quality standards.
* Assist in customer complaint investigations, including traceability and recall exercises.
* Monitor the quality systems used on site, auditing and reporting on areas showing non-compliance with follow up audits to ensure execution of corrective action.
* Audits will include, but not limited to:Internal audits to schedule, Traceability / recall checks, Knife / scissor checks, Hygiene / GMP audits, Glass / Hard Plastic Audits
* Ensure that all aspects of food safety and legal compliance are maintained.
* Create HACCP documents as required and maintain and monitor the HACCP system.
* Maintain document control so that only correct version paperwork is in use.
* Implement, monitor and maintain the Raw Material Specifications system and use it to monitor the quality of raw materials.
* Generate Finished goods specs as required for customers.
* Handle any issues related to raw material non-compliance including ensuring that the raw material is quarantined and non-conformance is recorded. Ensure that this is communicated back to the raw materials supplier in a timely manner.
* Undertake customer complaints investigation / corrective action auditing to ensure that remedial action is carried out.
* Assist in ongoing shelf life trials of finished products.
* Assist in the BRC accreditation process and following up non-compliances.
Skills
* Sound knowledge of quality standards required for products produced.
* Understanding of HACCP and BRC – training available.
* Computer literate – ability to use Word and Excel to a good standard.
* Leadership skills including conflict resolution.
