Specialist Pharmacist – Medicines Information, Clinical Effectiveness and Governance
We are seeking highly motivated pharmacists to join the Medicines Advice and Guidance team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The role supports the development and delivery of Medicines Information, Clinical Effectiveness and Medicines Governance services, and works with the Yellow Card Centre (YCC) Scotland and East Region Formulary (ERF).

* Salary: £52,845 – £61,466
Responsibilities
* Deliver a high-quality Medicines Information (MI) service, providing evaluated and evidence-based responses to enquiries and commissions from NHS Lothian health professionals.
* Support the Yellow Card Centre (YCC) Scotland by developing plans to promote adverse drug reaction reporting and delivering education and training for the public and professionals.
* Work closely with primary and secondary care to improve prescribing, support medicines governance groups, and adhere to policies and procedures.
* Support the development of protocols and guidelines and participate in medicines governance committees and specialist groups on an ad hoc basis.
* Maintain clinical skills through a weekly clinical session in an agreed area of practice and understand the impact of advice and guidance on patient care.
Qualifications
* Master of Pharmacy degree or equivalent and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
* Completed the Post Registration Foundation Training or equivalent competence mapped to the required competencies.
* Must hold a PVG Scheme membership/record; if not a current PVG member, an application to Disclosure Scotland must be completed before commencing.
* Familiarity with criminal records checks and legislative changes that may affect the role.

Benefits and Working Conditions
