The business has built a reputation for excellence and innovation by delivering major marine projects for local and global clients and due to significant growth, the opportunity has arisen for a Estimator to join the team based either at our Newry or Belfast offices. The successful candidate will become an integral part of the Estimating team where you will collate and interpret customer requirements to prepare detailed estimates, ensuring alignment with internal management and departments. The role also involves supporting the project team during start-up, conducting site surveys, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. Other key duties include: Assist project team at start up phase with major item requisitions and order planning when required. Adherence to delivery deadlines for estimate submission. Monitor and update data on labour resource rates Prepare enquiries for materials, sub-contract, and any other resource items specific to project. Be proficient in assessing contractual terms and identifying risk, and opportunities, for inclusion in the bid process Maintain a database of standard materials, sub-contractors, labour and any other resource. Ensure internally manufactured items are costed and resourced effectively, in conjunction with design and production teams Survey at site where required to verify tender requirements and attend client meetings as required. Prepare contract brief for project team on contract award. The Ideal Person will have: At least 3 years’ experience working in an Estimating Role in the construction industry Demonstrable experience of producing estimates under time constraints Experience using digital estimating software A proven track record in estimating fit-out projects Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills Excellent commercial acumen A full UK driving licence It would be preferable but not essential if the person had a qualification in a construction related subject and/or Marine Industry experience.
