Location: Glasgow
We’re working with a fast-growing engineering company in the space sector, based in Glasgow, who are looking to add a Buyer to their expanding team.
This business has seen rapid growth over the past year, moving into larger workshop facilities and scaling their operations to support exciting new projects. They’re playing a key role in developing technology that supports the UK’s ambitions in space, and they’re now looking for someone who can help strengthen their supply chain and support the smooth running of their engineering operations.
The Role
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing purchasing activities, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring the supply chain runs efficiently and cost-effectively. You’ll work closely with engineers and technical teams to source materials, resolve order discrepancies, and help improve systems and processes as the company continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure continuity of supply through effective supplier management
* Improve quality, lead times, and cost-effectiveness across all projects
* Maintain and develop supply chain systems to ensure traceability and compliance
* Manage and resolve purchase order and invoice issues
* Work with accounts to process all purchases and expedite orders
* Produce supply chain performance reports and metrics
* Continuously identify opportunities to improve supplier and internal performance
Key requirements
* Experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Buying (preferred but not essential)
* Excellent organisation and attention to detail
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Confident managing multiple priorities and deadlines
* Professional, proactive, and customer-focused attitude
* Proficient with Microsoft Office; ERP experience desirable but not essential
